The ninth consecutive year of The Kessler Academy is full of uplifting and powerful music featuring an entirely musician-led string orchestra mentorship program, driven by the Vancouver-based Microcosmos Quartet, in partnership with Music on Main.
Talented young musicians take the stage after a week-long mentorship program driven by the Vancouver-based Microcosmos Quartet. During back-to-back days of intense rehearsals, the rising young string professionals and advanced students study and perform great classical works for string orchestra. The Kessler Academy is named in honour and celebration of Vancouver’s legendary and late Mrs. Susan Kessler, whose vision and generosity enabled this initiative to take flight in 2015.
The musicians share their learnings on the intimate ANNEX stage and fill the hall with great music and beautiful sounds. Here’s your chance to be a part of young artists’ musical journey and listen to some truly inspiring music!
The cost of the program is covered through the generous support of donors and foundations. The Academy rehearsals will take place at The Post at 750 August 14-20, 2023.
