The eighth consecutive year of The Kessler Academy sparks hope, joy, and contemplation with music from Ukraine and Poland.
Talented young musicians take the stage after a week-long mentorship program driven by the Vancouver-based Microcosmos Quartet. This year’s concert holds a special meaning as Vancouver’s beloved centenarian and philanthropist Mrs. Susan Kessler passed away in October 2021. Her mission to keep classical musical vibrant in the 21st century is felt more than ever, and this musician-led string orchestra is the chance to feel this energetic sentiment with everyone in the room.
The Kessler Academy concert leaves audience members in high spirits. It’s filled with great music, inspiring performance, and the celebration of inspiring young musicians performing the repertoire they’ve polished in the past week. The Academy works intensely with participants to help build their confidence, and their learnings around classical repertoire.
