This season, Theatre Replacement and The Chop continue their series of candid discussions with artists from here and across Canada, and they’ve invited Music on Main and grunt gallery to get some cross-disciplinary discourse going. We’re all interested in how we can open up, better expose ourselves and push the conversations even further; how diverse perspectives can help us dig deeper and speak more specifically about what we do, and how it relates to the grander scheme of art making.
Now, Music on Main hosts the discussion at our new space in downtown Vancouver, where artists including composer James Maxwell will speak about repetition and what the idea of repetition means to their respective disciplines in terms of its relationship to ephemerality, performance, the moment, and more.
