“This might be the coolest thing to ever happen to music.”-Noisey
Dismantling the music of captivating producer/singer Grimes, Montreal’s Plumes Ensemble makes its debut appearance in Vancouver, performing responses to songs by one of Canada’s top electronic artists.
Drawing elements and motifs to form creations that subvert, deconstruct, and embrace her inimitable and memorable new wave vision and catchy sound – the airy cyborg pop tunes on Grimes’ breakout third release Visions (2012) will be decoded and reworked into classical interpretations by 12 celebrated Canadian composers. With music by Casssandra Miller, Giorgio Magnanensi, Emilie LeBel, and more.
