Listening. Together.
Music on Main’s 15th Season celebrates the outstanding artists, communities, and music we’ve experienced together over the years. Listening together has always been our deepest purpose, and continues to drive all that we do, especially in challenging times like these.
Composers Jessie Montgomery & Whitney George
Tyler Duncan, Olivia Blander, and Erika Switzer perform music that evokes New York City. Composer Jessie Montgomery was inspired by her upbringing in Manhattan’s Lower East Side for her setting of the poem Loisaida by poet, activist, and community builder Bimbo Rivas. Composer Whitney George sets poet Dennis Nurske’s A Night in Brooklyn with the memory of “summer nights so damp you could drink them.”
These performances were recorded in Vancouver in August 2020. With high quality audio and video production, Music on Main’s videos are created for listeners to experience great music, wherever they are.
