“…a volcanic violinist with a huge, fabulous tone that pours out of her like molten lava. She has technique to burn and plays at a constant high heat. She is uninhibited, sometimes strikingly so.”-Los Angeles Times
Canadian-born violinist Lara St. John has been described as “something of a phenomenon” (The Strad) and a “high-powered soloist” (New York Times). Playing with orchestras in major concert halls all over the world, Lara has left her mark on classical music while giving it her own twist.
When Lara takes to the stage with JUNO-nominated pianist, composer, and arranger Matt Herskowitz, an unstoppable musical dream team of unbridled energy is created. Performing Beethoven’s powerful Kreutzer Sonata, as well as pieces from their album Shiksa, comprised of original compositions and arrangements based on traditional eastern European folk songs, this will be a season opener you won’t want to miss.
This concert has been generously sponsored by Blake, Cassels & Graydon.
