Gabriel Dharmoo’s Anthropologies imaginaires combines a tour de force vocal performance, video projection, and a theatrical dimension in a mockumentary on vocal traditions demonstrated by the singer-performer.
The music and vocal exploration is inspired by various isolated and/or odd vocal traditions found across the world, but revisited through imaginary folklore and experimental extended voice techniques to interrogate post-colonialism, post-exoticism, cultural appropriation, and more. Join us for a thought-provoking evening of theatrical music.
