The feeling of connection is something that’s hard to describe; it’s something closer to comfort and mutual empathy.

“As dreams are made” is Artistic Director David Pay‘s very personal response to the global pandemic.
Inspired by the magic of musicians in live performance, this 15-minute production was created specifically for one audience member and one performer to connect safely through music that brings us together. It’s an immersive event that is at once intimate and comforting, inventive and dreamlike.
“As dreams are made” was also inspired by 1:1 CONCERTS, short, in-person encounters between one listener and one musician. Opening each encounter with eye contact and a kind, welcoming mutual gaze creates an intimate, very personal 1:1 concert experience with the feeling of “proximity from a distance.”
This brief, socially distanced live performance is part of Music on Main “The Tempest Project,” a full-length immersive work that will premiere in 2023.
