Aaron Graham is a percussionist, composer & educator at the University of British Columbia.
Aaron Graham is an award-winning performer, composer, and educator. He recently served as Visiting Instructor of Percussion at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and is currently a Doctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts, where he also teaches percussion courses. He is a member of the Percussive Arts Society Scholarly Research Committee, Black Swamp Percussion Educator’s Network, and won the 2014 Percussive Arts Society International Composition Contest. Aaron’s original works have been performed across the world by university and professional ensembles alike, at the Aries Composers Festival, MATA Festival, TUTTI Festival, Turn Up! Multimedia Festival, and at the 2020 ISCM World Music Days in New Zealand.
Aaron is a featured Emerge Artist with Vancouver-based Music on Main’s 2020 Concert Season, and was chosen as Featured Artist for the 2019 Sonic Boom Festival, along with Julia Chien, who together form the percussion duo Infamy Too! He has travelled the world playing percussion with various pop, rock, and country groups, and has seen original works released on the Billboard Top 100 Charts. An active educator, his teachings and reviews have been published in Percussive Notes, Rhythm! Scene, The Instrumentalist, the International Journal of Music and Performing Arts, and at PASIC, The National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy, Transplanted Roots Percussion Symposium, Muscan Conference, British Columbia Music Educator’s Conference, and the New Music Gathering.
