The Nu:BC Collective
Tuesday, March 3, 2009 The Nu:BC Collective is the UBC School of Music's newest professional ensemble-in-residence, whose performances have been described by the Georgia Straight as “spellbinding” and “groundbreaking”. With a fresh and innovative take on contemporary music, this performance will highlight music by Canadian composers Dorothy Chang and Chris Paul Harman, in addition to a world premiere commission by Vancouver’s own Christopher Sivak. Also featuring The Body of Your Dreams by avant pop composer Jacob TV, a hilarious work for boombox and piano that takes an infomercial for the Abdomenizer and sets it to music.
Featuring: Paolo Bortolussi, flute; Erika Block, clarinet; Eric WIlson, cello; Corey Hamm, piano
