The future of the free world may lie in wait this evening, but why not instead come to hear the future of music? Conductor Véronique Lacroix has been compared to Leonard Bernstein for her "uncanny ability to call forth images from every note" (Georgia Straight). Now that's the sort of leader that gets our vote. She travels from Montreal with her acclaimed new music big band to present "Generation 2008" a pan-Canadian programme of new works from emerging composers Michael Berger, Scott Good, Fuhong Shi, and Brian Harman.
